Davisville Middle School Honor Society Criteria
Scholarship - Students must have an overall average of 90% or higher for all three quarters. (When all three quarters are averaged together, it must be 90% or higher)
Service - Students must complete a minimum of TEN hours of community service, which means work done with or on behalf of another person or group for which they are not compensated. This work must benefit the school or community in a significant way. Examples are: Courtyard Cleanup, participating in a litter clean up around school grounds, participation in service events through advisory, service projects for Boy or Girl Scouts, volunteer time at religious institutions, serve at a soup kitchen, make or collect items for an organization, etc. If a student is unsure if an activity qualifies as service, he or she should check with Ms. Eisner prior to getting involved in the service project or initiative.
Leadership - Students must show evidence of leadership at DMS by obtaining a signature from a supervising adult who has witnessed your role as a leader. This could be in class, as the captain of a sports team, part of a school group or during our After School Program, setting a good example for others, or encouraging others to make better decisions.
Character - Demonstrate an outstanding record of conduct and behavior. Discipline referrals (write ups in ASPEN) and consequences issued will be counted against eligibility.
Citizenship - Students must show evidence of citizenship by participating in a school or community service activity, as well as evidence of commendable behavior and actions.
