A collection of links to highly recommended and reviewed teacher resource sites.

U.S. Census Bureau’s Statistics in Schools program, which uses census data to create free classroom resources to educate students about the importance of a complete and accurate count of everyone living in the United States. We offer a wide variety classroom of activities for pre-K through 12th grade educators to use in all subjects. This program was created by teachers, for teachers. To increase teachers’ awareness of our materials, we ask that you check out the following pages:

Awesome Library links to various resources based upon a particular subject or lesson plan topic. It is extremely easy to use and has an impressive scope. The site claims to organize over 37,000 resources, making it the ultimate education library. (Free) 

Education World includes more than just lesson plans, including how to incorporate technology and other teaching related concerns, but it still has quite a few lesson plans available. The site posts a "Top Ten Lesson Plans" section and lists topics by subject area. (Free, but cluttered with busy ads. If ads do not bother the reader, then it is an excellent resource) 

LearnZillion : Exceptional Preparation for the Common Core. Thousands of resources to explain the standards and equip students for success, and best of all, our friend Steve Skaggs is now a contributor!  (*Free for now)

Lesson Planet claims to house over 150,000 lesson plans. Its slogan, "The Search Engine for Teachers", truly describes its function. Most of the lessons list targeted grade levels as well as a brief summary, making the search process easy. In fact, the site has an advanced keyword search feature, making it easier to find lesson plans for particular state standards.(Free for the first ten days; after that, access is currently $39.95 per year)

ReadWriteThink : Searchable Lessons, interactives, calendar activities, Professional Development and more, right at your fingertips. 

Ready Common Core Teacher Toolbox :  Teacher Toolbox provides a host of multi-level resources teachers can use to differentiate instruction; even extra lessons for interactive whiteboards.  Toolbox log in codes available from district (contact math coordinator).

 Teachers Network : Great resources including curriculum units, lesson plans, free videos about teaching, and even report card comments.

Teaching Channel -  a thriving online community where teachers can watch, share, and learn diverse techniques to help every student grow. 

Thinkfinity is the Verizon Foundation’s free online professional learning community, providing access to over 60,000 educators and experts in curriculum enhancement, along with thousands of award-winning digital resources for K-12 — aligned to state standards and the common core.
